Tree Management

Decay detection, aerially or from ground level

Applying the Resistograph® PD-500 or 400 series to test wood for structural weaknesses

Platform for large sized tree structural testing

Advanced testing using decay detection instruments Picus-3® Sonic Tomography and Resistograph® PD-500 at multiple levels on the tree

Sonic tomography

The Picus-3 measures sound velocity between sensor points installed on the tree and presents results of decay and hollows in 2D & 3D imaging for analysis

Visual Tree Assessment (VTA)

VTA is the most common form of tree assessment in urban areas. Our Arborists use their knowledge and experience to condition survey or risk assess, using the latest GIS/GPS technology

Root Exploratory Trenching (RET)

RET may be required to determine the quantity and sizes of tree roots present and the impact of permanent or temporary works proposed adjacent to tree(s). Methods of RET such as careful excavation by hand tools or, preferably use of specialised pneumatic tools are typically used so as not to damage tree roots. Our arborists provide RET method design, supervisions and construction impact assessment reporting

LiDAR scanning for advanced assessments such as tree branch integration with proposed structure

LiDAR – ‘Point Cloud Scanning’ provides our assessors with sub-decimetre accuracy of tree trunks, branches and stems for overlay to Dwg files for in-depth studies

LiDAR scan of highway, with oversized transport structure superimposed

LiDAR scanning has multiple useful functions including in this case, clash detection for our assessors to calculate the impacted tree volumes

LiDAR scan of highway – plan view

Scan image of study area. Production of fly-through’s are also available and a useful visual tool for client presentations and the like

TREE MAINTENANCE – Tree maintenance feasibility study

Graphical representation of feasibility study for maintenance of trees located indoor / confined spaces

Tree Risk Assessment

Our Qualified Tree Risk Assessors use their skills, knowledge and advanced GIS/GPS systems and software for identification and rating of tree risk, including prescribing mitigation measures and prioritizing the mitigation work
