Mr Rick Thomas
Principle Consultant/ Director
Rick spent his student years studying Horticulture at Kings Park and Botanic Gardens in Perth [Australia] before moving to the UK where he undertook Tree Surgery/Arborist studies at Merrist Wood College. Rick was a founding director and manager of a leading and highly credentialed Arboricultural business in Australia for 18 years specializing in large scale tree transplanting operations and Arboricultural Consultancy Services; Now living in Singapore since 2002, Rick brings to the company over 25 years of Arboricultural experience, knowledge and passion. He is dedicated to assisting the development of the ‘tree care industry’ in a long lasting Arbor ‘Culture’ in Singapore and the surrounding region.

Mr Derek Tee
Director of admin/ contracts & project planning
Graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a bachelor (honours) degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. His knowledge in soil mechanics and civil engineering background has synergized well with Rick’s experience in the fields of Arboricultural consultancy services and large tree transplanting. Derek is recognized regionally as a leading technical expert in project design, planning & management in respect to large scale Arboriculture operations. Our administrative base is well equipped in the fields of Arboriculture, Horticulture and Civil Engineering and offers a high level of experience and expertise. ArborCulture Pte Ltd is well structured and supported by a global network of professionals to keep us in step with modern thinking and new technologies.
Mr Martin Tay
Director: Principle Consultant/ Director
Graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Information Technology. His experience and familiarity with computer systems, applications and programs assist the company in meeting IT demands through implementation of modern technological equipments & programs into the new age Arboriculture industry. Martin is an ISA Certified Arborist with 5 years of experience in land-development planning/ tree assessment & strategizing conservation and is dedicated to advancing and promoting the modern form of Arboriculture industry in Singapore and the region to a higher level.

Mr Rajesh Singh Gill
Rajesh joined our organization in the early part of 2009 after 20 successful years operating as a German Speaking Tourist Guide in Singapore and Malaysia which, during this time he developed a keen interest in natural and urbanized flora and fauna through translating the self-learnt and researched material to his tourism customers. His interest focused on trees particularly and had developed into a passion over the period and directed a career change for him which resulted in his employment with our company, enrolment and completion of WSQ Advanced Certificate Landscape (Arboriculture); being one of the first few in Singapore to do so and; is currently undertaking WSQ Diploma Landscape (Arboriculture). He is an ISA certified arborist with 5 years of experience.
Ms Shirley Lim
Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Animal Biology, 2006. Shirley joined our team in 2016. Prior to this, she was an Arborist in Wildlife Reserves Singapore and the National Parks Board. She is an ISA certified arborist with more than 4 years’ experience in trees management in Parks and Streetscapes.
Mr Ethan Lua Sien Yang
Ethan joined our organization in early 2017 having graduated from the University of Melbourne with Bachelor’s Degree in Environments and majoring in Landscape Architecture. He has a diploma in landscape architecture from Singapore Polytechnic and has been in the landscape industry through internship and work in landscape consultant firms. Having been involved in commercial and residential projects both locally and overseas, he has both flair and experience in landscape graphic design, a sound knowledge of design development processes and a strong interest in promoting and providing a picturesque and sustainable environment in urban and semi-urban settings.
Ms Au Hwi Ji
Graduated from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) with a Bachelor Degree of International Tropical Forestry. She joined the company in 2017 following her working experiences in Penang Malaysia involving plant taxonomy, silviculture, horticulture and soil sciences
Ms Jill Quek
Graduated from Nanyang Technological University’s Business School with a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Accountancy and was a Chartered Accountant (CA) of Singapore. During this period Jill was involved in audit, public administration and volunteering work. Prior to joining the organization in mid-2017, she had received on-the-job training through CUGE’s Landscape Apprenticeship Programme and concurrently, formed part of an arboriculture operations team based at Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Mr Rushan bin Abdul Rahman
Rushan graduated from Murdoch University where he studied Conservation and Wildlife biology. Much of his work in Singapore focuses on terrestrial environmental impact assessments as well as environmental management and monitoring programs, largely in fauna. his overseas experience surrounds research on sea turtle biology and ecology, primarily in Maldives and Australia. The key abilities Rushan brings to the organisation are his quantitative skillsets, particularly in statistical and spatial analysis.
Ms Jong Ying Wei
Ying Wei joined the company in mid 2019 after completing a Masters of Forestry degree at Duke University. Prior to this, she has experience as a Streetscape Manager in National Parks Board for over 5 years. She is an ISA-certified arborist (SG-0624A) with skills and experience in plant identification, tree risk assessment, geographic information systems (GIS) and Forest carbon sciences.
