RICK THOMAS

Principle Arborist/ Director

Rick spent his student years studying Horticulture at Kings Park and Botanic Gardens in Perth  [Australia] before moving to the UK where he undertook Tree Surgery/Arborist studies at Merrist Wood College. Rick was a founding director and manager of a leading and highly credentialed Arboricultural business in Australia for 18 years specializing in large scale tree transplanting operations and Arboricultural Consultancy Services; Now living in Singapore since 2002, Rick brings to the company over 25 years of Arboricultural experience, knowledge and passion. He is dedicated to assisting the development of the ‘tree care industry’ in a long lasting Arbor ‘Culture’ in Singapore and the surrounding region.

Ricks current local responsibilities in his role as the companies Principle Arborist [or by his own-self obligation] include:

DEREK TEE

Director of admin/ contracts & project planning

Graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a bachelor (honours) degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. His knowledge in soil mechanics and civil engineering background has synergized well with Rick’s experience in the fields of Arboricultural consultancy services and large tree transplanting. Derek is recognized regionally as a leading technical expert in project design, planning & management in respect to large scale Arboriculture operations. Our administrative base is well equipped in the fields of Arboriculture, Horticulture and Civil Engineering and offers a high level of experience and expertise. ArborCulture Pte Ltd is well structured and supported by a global network of professionals to keep us in step with modern thinking and new technologies.


MARTIN TAY

Director: Senior Consulting Arborist

Graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Information Technology. His experience and familiarity with computer systems, applications and programs assist the company in meeting IT demands through implementation of modern technological equipments & programs into the new age Arboriculture industry. Martin is an ISA Certified Arborist with 5 years of experience in land-development planning/ tree assessment & strategizing conservation and is dedicated to advancing and promoting the modern form of Arboriculture industry in Singapore and the region to a higher level.

Boo Ghim Yew

Business Development Manager/ Consulting Arborist

Boo is a qualified Horticulturist and ISA Certified Arborist. He is an active arboreal practitioner and a dedicated industry leader and member. Boo has extensive experience managing both International and Singapore based projects on behalf of the company and well versed on the requirements and what it takes to succeed, particularly in regard to eco-sensitive land-development projects. Boo is charged with developing new business relationships and new business incentives and in his consulting role, works with our assessor, design & planning team members and performs mostly as project manager, mostly on the company’s overseas projects.


Harry Lim

Arboreal Engineer

Graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. In the past 2 years, he has worked in the field of mechanical engineer consultant and arboricultural industry. His in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering and flare for multi-disciplinary design broadly, has proven to be a valuable member of our team in providing our clients with innovative thinking, problem solving ability


Rajesh Singh Gill

Apprentice Arborist

Rajesh joined our organization in the early part of 2011 after 20 successful years operating as a German Speaking Tourist Guide in Singapore and Malaysia which, during this time he developed a keen interest in natural and urbanized flora and fauna through translating the self-learnt and researched material to his tourism customers. His interest focused on trees particularly and had developed into a passion over the period and directed a career change for him which resulted in his employment with our company, enrolment and completion of WSQ Advanced Certificate Landscape (Arboriculture); being one of the first few in Singapore to do so and; is currently undertaking WSQ Diploma Landscape (Arboriculture).
